Ms. Dunn graduated in 1982 from the University of Miami, School of Law, with honors. She is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, and in the Southern District of Florida. Marcia Dunn began the practice of law with a general practice law firm in Miami, handling various types of legal matters, including bankruptcy, family law, civil law, criminal law, and real estate. Subsequently, Ms. Dunn founded the law firm of Dunn & Associates, P.A., a firm specializing in the areas of consumer bankruptcy law and trustee representation. In 1992, Ms. Dunn was appointed a Chapter 7 panel trustee by the United States Department of Justice and continues to serve as a panel trustee today. In 2001, Ms. Dunn was Of Counsel to a larger firm that specialized in bankruptcy and commercial law. Thereafter Ms. Dunn was a partner in Ryan & Dunn, P.A. – which specialized in all aspects of bankruptcy law.
Ms. Dunn has been actively involved in professional organizations throughout her career, including having held numerous positions with the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida, and held membership in the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, Florida Bar Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.Ms. Dunn has also lectured for various organizations on the topic of bankruptcy law, and has taught bankruptcy law, for many years, at annual bankruptcy seminars presented by the University of Miami, School of Law.
